RECOGNISING OUR TALENT

The Caravan Industry Awards recognise the leaders and innovators driving our industry to new heights.

This year’s awards will be presented at the National Conference Gala Dinner on 15 May, providing the perfect occasion to celebrate the achievements and dedication of this year’s recipients. 

We have provided an overview of the awards now open for nomination (below), along with information on other awards that will be presented on the night. 

The Eric Hayman OAM Award for Excellence

The time-honoured Eric Hayman OAM Award for Excellence is the industry’s most prestigious accolade. 
For over 30 years the award has recognised individuals and businesses making a positive impact at a national level.
Nominations are open to any individual, group, company or organisation in the caravanning and camping industry.

the Richard Davis OAM Award

The Richard Davis OAM Award recognises outstanding contributions to the peak national body.
Nominations are not submitted for this award. The recipient is chosen by a selection committee. 

The Gerry Ryan OAM Award for Innovation

Introduced in 2019, this award recognises the long-standing contribution to the industry (and the industry body) made by Gerry Ryan OAM.
For the purpose of this award, innovation is defined as: “The implementation of creative ideas in order to generate value. Value can be measured in increased revenue, cost savings, efficiency gains, or social improvement, such as safety.”

thl - Industry Leadership Award (Under 40)

The thl Industry Leadership Award (Under 40), previously the Future Leaders Award, recognises the talent shaping the future of Australia’s caravan and camping industry.  
This award is for young leaders – the ones who have built teams, driven strategy and created genuine, lasting impact.  They may not yet have reached industry legend status, but their contribution is undeniable and the industry is betterfor their presence in it.

thl - Rising star Award

The newly created thl Rising Star Award recognises emerging talent shaping the future of Australia’s caravan and camping industry. Open to individuals aged 40 years or under, or those who have been in the industry for less than two years, this award recognises outstanding potential, genuine passion and a clear ambition to make a lasting contribution to the industry. 

Ultimate Business Systems – RV Salesperson of the Year Award

The Ultimate Business Systems – RV Salesperson of the Year Award recognises and celebrates outstanding sales professionals in Australia’s recreational vehicle industry who demonstrate exceptional customer service, product knowledge and understanding of the law, while contributing to their business’ success in a competitive marketplace. 

Christie Barbecues Community Engagement Award

The Christie Barbecues Community Engagement Award recognises outstanding initiatives and/or individuals that create meaningful connections with their local communities across Australia. 

the CHAIRPERSON'S Award

The Chairperson’s Award recognises outstanding service to the caravanning and camping industry.
Nominations are not submitted for this award. The recipient is chosen by the Caravan Industry Association of Australia Chairperson. 

People's Choice awards

The Reviewpro Reputation People’s Choice Caravan Park of the Year Award is based on consumer reviews submitted via the Reviewpro Reputation platform with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards presented.
 
The RVMAP People’s Choice Manufacturer of the Year Award, sponsored by DLL, is based on the results of an extensive consumer survey. In 2026, awards will be presented to a high-volume towable business, a low-volume towable business and a motorised business.
